Come and combine everything in one venture trip, which will keep you on the edge and tested to the limit every minute. Only for those who really want to give everything a go!

Bushmasters offers both Standard and RAW trips.

All Venture Trips

These trips take you to the remote, pristine jungles of Guyana, in South America. With a Bushmasters instructor and the vast knowledge of two senior local Amerindian guides you will learn just how easy and how much fun it is to live in the jungle.

As soon as you arrive in country we start the acclimatization process and take you hundreds of miles deep into the jungles of Guyana.

Here we will issue you all the kit you need and continue your training. You will get the chance to put up and sleep in your own hammock, learn how to use a machete safely, bathe in jungle rivers and take in all the wildlife and strange sounds the forest has to offer. We also have to sort out the gear we need to take. We have to carry as light a pack as possible, but still have all the food, camp equipment and safety kit we need for the adventure ahead.

Venture trips combine elements of survival, trek, training, cowboy adventures and a few extras thrown in just for the fun, including abseiling down jungle rock faces. Venture trips are non-stop and the team is always on the go. They are designed for those who want to try everything, and who have the physical and mental stamina to cope with it. Each venture trip is unique. We never do the same trip twice so please contact us for the specific itinerary for the trip you are interested in.

Belize

Situtaed in Central America, South of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, Belize is about the size of Wales and home to legends of the Mayan, great jungle, an amazing reef and one of the best dives, if not the best, in the world - The Blue Hole. For two trips only in 2010 the Bushmasters crew will be back in Belize (Ian lived there for two years) for two week long jungle ventures with an optional add on week of fun in the sun with diving, Mayan ruins and sandy beaches with blue, blue sea to mess around in.

We'll be running jungle training at the Gallon Jug estate, a James Bond set waiting to happen and the site of a few Special Forces training exercises in the past, before moving into the jungle by amphibeous vehicle, transferring from jungle track straight into the rivers to move deep into the forest, where we'll trek caves, cross rivers and explore the jungle of Belize.

There are only two trips and limited places, with first refusal going to guys who've been on Bushmasters trips in the past, so get in real quick if you're keen.

Standard

At the end of the standard trips we will take you in a light aircraft to see the world's tallest single drop waterfall, Kaieteur.

Following Kaieteur we fly off, back across the jungle with huge Tepui mountains in the distance. These are table top mountains, which just rise out of the jungle and were the inspiration for Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's story of "The Lost World." We cut over the Essequibo river, the third biggest in South America and wider than the Channel from Dover to Calais at its mouth and land back in the capital city of Georgetown.

RAW

Are you up for a jungle venture, but can't afford it right now... then maybe a RAW package is for you.

For a few trips every year, we cut out all the fancy luxurious items in an effort to reduce costs to the bare minimum. Light aircraft charters in and out of the jungle, stays in posh lodges and trips to waterfalls are all very expensive. Distances traveled are large plus the lodges have to be self sufficient. There is no electricity or sewage system - they have to build it all and do it in an environmentally friendly way, which all costs money.

On a RAW trip we will drive you for nearly 12 hours in vehicles in and out of the forest. There are no smart lodges for you to stay in and we're afraid it will be an additional expense if want to visit Kaieteur Falls. But, you get exactly the same amount of time in the jungle, with the same staff and all the opportunities to make a RAW Venture as action packed as our standard trip whilst in the jungle.
