Ever wanted to learn how to live in the jungle? Sleep in hammocks, cross piranha infested rivers, trek off into nowhere, know where you are and still come home in one piece!
This 16-day course takes you to the remote, pristine jungles of Guyana, in South America. With a Bushmasters instructor and the vast knowledge of two senior, local Amerindian guides you will learn just how easy and how much fun it is to live in the jungle.
We will take you through in detail all you need to know, including dodging deadfall and how to use a machete and not have to patch yourself or someone else up. We will identify what the real jungle hazards are as opposed to the Hollywood myths, and the basics of survival if all goes wrong.
This trip is an on demand course only and is geared towards those who wish to become expedition leaders, or who have to work in a jungle environment, maybe as a scientist, TV researcher or similar. As well as all the normal jungle skills, we’ll also talk about risk assessments, expedition planning from logistics to casualty evacuation and a host of other skills that any jungle leader will need to know.
By the end you’ll have all the basic skills you need, but you must then gain the experience and put these skills into practice as often as you can.
